Recent RUF Mid-Atlantic Conference

In RUF we seek to build community and invite students into our family to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” Loneliness on a large state campus is still the number one social problem students deal with.

One of the best community unifying events that RUF Maryland takes part in is the RUF Mid-Atlantic Fall Conference in Ligonier, PA. Praise God for the over 100 students who attended from Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, Millersville, WVU and Frostburg State. The Rev. Pete Hatton, former RUF Campus Minister at Baylor and now a church planter in Oklahoma preached on repentance and the gospel of grace from stories in the life of David. A big theme was “own your sin so you can disown it, or it will own you.” Our students were impacted by the messages and the amazing gospel of grace that allows us to not hide our sin but freely confess and be found by a seeking gracious God.

One of the benefits from this conference is that our students connect in small groups with students from other schools and see the bigger picture of RUF in the Mid-Atlantic region. RUF is not just on your campus but is a movement of the Gospel throughout the country. Praise the Lord with us for twenty-one from Maryland who attended along with 3 new freshman.
