Finding Rest at PITT

Here at PITT we have been at it for a month already. Four weeks of school, first round of exams, one week of familial illness, multiple snow storms, and with the calendar barely into February, we are already in need of a little respite. The Spring semester here is often a misnomer; it's a Winter semester with a slight possibility of Spring at the end. And it's a hard long run to that end. So two years ago we began holding a winter getaway we call our RUFUN Retreat. Next weekend about 25 students from PITT will pile into cars, temporarily escape the concrete zoo that is PITT, retreat to a rural farmhouse an hour away, and do little but rest and play for the weekend. Yes, we will worship, sing, pray, and encourage one another. But the primary reason we retreat is to rest, because students do not know how to rest. So pray that as we rest, we will learn a thing or two about what it means to trust God and rest in His care.
