New RUF Tradition at Maryland

In mid-January Maryland RUF started what hopefully will be a new tradition. We held our very first Winter Ministry Team retreat at Sky Croft Ranch outside of Frederick, MD. This was wonderful time in between the fall and spring semesters of reconnecting with 9 of our student leaders for renewal in the Gospel, prayer and planning. We of course also had a lot of fun playing games, like wally-ball (indoor volleyball) and hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

We were all encouraged and the students gave Kristy, Logan (interns) and I lots of good feedback as we evaluated RUF at Maryland. The ministry is going through a transition where we have graduated many outgoing, natural "gatherers" over the last two years and now are seeking to get new freshman and sophomores to step up and take more responsibility and leadership. One of the highlights at the start of this spring semester has been several students taking real initiative to lead in different areas. Pray especially for Ashley who is heading up our music and worship team for our weekly Large Group meeting. Please pray for these leaders to be filled with the Spirit and to be empowered to love and reach a campus in need of the hope of the Gospel.
