Getting Started at Columbia University

Greetings from Manhattan! It’s great to be able to say that to you because after several months of anticipation, preparation, and transition Brittany and I are now settling into life in New York. We’ve been in the area for about two months and are slowly but surely learning our way around and adjusting to life in this big, interesting place. We wound up finding an apartment on the Upper West Side- it’s small and expensive, but, then again, so is everything in the city- that is 15 blocks south of Columbia, which makes for an easy walk up to campus. Columbia can often feel like “hard ground to till” in regards to engaging students with the Gospel, but at the same time I’ve been regularly encouraged by numerous, small displays of God’s grace and faithfulness in the lives of the handful of students that I’ve been meeting with so far. I count it a great privilege to share the love of Christ with these young men and women, and look forward to continuing to walk alongside them and others during these formative college years!
