Reaching the Nations at the University of Delaware

It was hard to find a place to sit at “Dinner & Discussion” in the spring semester at the University of Delaware! Each week 70-90 international students and scholars came to enjoy a free meal, make friends, and discuss the Bible. “Why is Jesus called the ‘Lamb’?” “What is the ‘second death’?” “When will Jesus come back?” some recently questioned. Could you ask for better opportunities to share the good news about our Savior?

Many of our foreign friends first hear about “Dinner & Discussion” at RUF-I’s English Conversation Class. But the Lord works through the class in other ways too. Recently a Chinese scholar took four copies of The Jesus Storybook Bible to give to her friends! She is always bringing new internationals to RUF-I events, and sometimes even to our church. What a joy to see the Spirit working in and through this dear woman!

In April four Americans and 20 of our global guests had a fun time in Washington, DC. We walked the National Mall, viewed Smithsonian exhibits, and toured the U.S. Capitol Building. But even better, we grew friendships together. A Fulbright scholar, who returned to Russia shortly after our trip, said that RUF-I was the best thing about her time at UD!
