Rejoicing in Burlington

I just left Burlington after spending two delightful days with the RUF people there. John and Megan Meinen moved to Burlington in July to start the first RUF ministry in northern New England. Joseph and Katie Pensak moved there a year ago to start the church which will be the foundation for the campus ministry. Starting a church in northern New England is hard! Joseph says this is much harder than the campus ministry he did with RUF at UConn. It is a great relief to have John and Megan join Joseph and Katie in this effort.

The big news is that their first worship service last week was a big success! After only one year of work, Redeemer Burlington is holding weekly worship. They are meeting in a beautiful Orthodox church building, which the Orthodox congregation has generously agreed to share with them.

John is meeting with several students already. This is encouraging, but much of his effort this year will go toward establishing the church. Next fall we hope to see a surge of students getting involved! Pray for God to continue blessing Redeemer Burlington, the Meinens, and the Pensaks.
